Hawkins Stadium was named for and built by team owner Michael J. Hawkins. It was built at a cost of $240,000. The park was torn down in 1960, The site is now called Mid-City Plaza which houses NYS government offices. The catcher faced NW. Hawkins Stadium sported two ticket booths outside the park. One was behind home, another behind the bleachers on the 1B side. The dressing rooms were under the grandstand on the 1B side. The grandstand had a steel frame, with concrete floors and a wooden roof. A concrete box seat area ran the whole length of the grandstand. The grandstand was flanked on both sides by small concrete bleacher sections, and a somewhat larger wooden bleacher area along the RF line.
