Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds Stadium is named for Alex T. Duffy, who was involved with the fairgrounds beginning in 1915. The fairgrounds were first built in 1851, and rebuilt in 1947 following a fire. The 1851 grandstand was burned down by an arsonist in 1947 following a Border League playoff game
