White City Park
Location: Springfield, MOBooneville near W. Lynn Street & N. Campbell Avenue.
Capacity: 1,500 (1911) est
.; 4,000 (1936); 6,000 (1939). Dimensions:. A 1910 map shows a new "base ball grounds" about 100 yards south of the old site. The park was in the White City complex, which included a skating rink, two theaters, an "electric theater", a carousel, a shooting gallery, & a bowling alley. A 1933 map shows all of the White City amusement complex gone. A more elaborate ballpark is present. A good-sized grandstand is flanked by small, narrow bleacher sections down each foul line; the locker room is behind the LF bleachers. The catcher faced NE.
