The catcher faced south. Built in 1934, the stadium features a plaque dedicated to the memory of Pirate farmhand Francisco Alfredo Edmead, who died as the result of an on-the-field injury. The stadium was rebuilt for the 1995 season in the Salem Civic Center Complex.
