Kafer Park
Location: New Bern, NCCedar & George Streets.
Capacity: 2,500 (1939); 2,470 (1950)
Dimensions (Left, Center, Right): 360-400-290
The catcher faced SW. The park was named after one of the Kafer brothers, Oscar or Alfred. One of them was a doctor; the other owned a large bakery. The LF & CF fences adjoined the National Guard Armory. There was no infield grass. The park is still in use. Grandstand was torn down but field still exists.
