Marsh Field
Location: Muskegon, MILaketon & Peck (SE corner).
Capacity: 4,000 (1949); 5,000 (1950)
The park was built in 1916 by Charles W. Marsh, a local industrialist, and a small group of investors. It was designed by Harry Boyle & Co. of South Bend, Indiana. A 1926 map shows the park in a residential area, with a grandstand and two small bleacher sections. The park was enclosed with a board fence. The catcher faced SE. In the 1930's, a concrete box seat section and concrete dugouts were added in front of the wooden grandstand. Lights were installed in 1946. Torn down in 1957, Marsh Field remains Muskegon's primary baseball park; amateur baseball is still played there.
