The Kansas City Comets of the Major Indoor Soccer League ended the 1987-88 season with a record of 29 wins and 27 losses in the MISL's Western Division. The team compiled a postseason mark of 6-4.
The Comets led the league with 294 goals. Kansas City allowed 290 goals, most in the circuit. Dale Mitchell scored 48 goals for the squad, while Jan Goossens, Kim Roentved, Tasso Koutsoukos, Barry Wallace, Kia and Damir Haramina each contributed fifteen or more also. Jan Goossens accounted for 56 assists. Ed Gettemeier topped the team with 17 wins. Alan Mayer recorded a 4.75 goals against average, pacing keepers with significant playing time.
Dave Clements coached the team. The 1987-88 Kansas City Comets lost in the Division Final.
