The Generals led the league with 364 goals. Flint allowed 381 goals, most in the circuit. Rick Cabalka scored 43 goals for the squad, while Mike Clarke, Jim Johnston, Cliff Cox and Terry Smith each netted 30 or more, too. Jim Johnston contributed 77 assists, and Randy Ireland recorded a 4.7 goals against average, leading regular goalies.
Doug Carpenter coached the team. The 1977-78 Flint Generals lost in the in 1st Round of the playoffs.
