The Detroit Spirits of the Continental Basketball Association ended the 1982-83 season with a record of 26 wins and 18 losses, finishing first in the CBA's Central Division. The team compiled a postseason mark of 7-5.

Tico Brown tossed in a team-best 998 points for the Spirits, and Terry Duerod scored 19 or more per game, too. Clarence Kea contributed 524 boards. Kevin Smith dished out 289 assists for the squad.

On the defensive side of the ball, Kevin Smith added 84 steals, while Cyrus Mann blocked 130 shots.

Gary Mazza coached the team. The 1982-83 Detroit Spirits won the Championship.
