1962 Shelby Colonels Roster

The Shelby Colonels of the Western Carolina League ended the 1962 season with a record of 40 wins and 59 losses, finishing fourth in the WCL.

The Colonels plated 456 runs, worst in the league, and allowed 621 runs, most in the circuit. Francis Petrellis recorded 50 runs batted in and topped all regular hitters by hitting .275. Larry Staley led the team with 7 wins, while George Bechtold registered a 3 earned run average, tops among hurlers with significant time on the mound.

Steve Whitaker played in Major League Baseball during his career, the only member of the Shelby Colonels to do so.

Joe Abernethy and Cloyd Boyer served as manager.
