The Reading Indians of the Eastern League ended the 1965 season with a record of 53 wins and 86 losses, finishing sixth in the EL.

The Indians plated 518 runs and allowed 631 runs, most in the league. Paul Dicken paced Reading with 23 home runs, while Jerome Kelly walloped 15 or more, too. Orlando Centellas recorded 74 runs batted in. Johnny Parker led batters with significant playing time by hitting .295. Robert Wolfe topped the team with 8 wins, and William Wolfe recorded a 2.85 ERA, leading pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.

Ray Fosse, Steve Bailey, Hal Kurtz, Sam Parrilla, Doug Gallagher, Vern Fuller, Larry Foster and Paul Dicken were all players from the 1965 Reading Indians who played in the Majors during their careers.
