The Newton Railroaders/Blackwell/Ottawa Gassers of the Southwestern League ended the 1924 season with a record of 79 wins and 50 losses, finishing first in the SL.A windstorm in Newton wrecked the grandstand causing the team to move to Blackwell July 26; Blackwell (7-4) moved to Ottawa August 5; Ottawa (13-12) moved back to Newton August 28.
