The Decatur Commodores of the Midwest League ended the 1962 season with a record of 42 wins and 78 losses, finishing tenth in the MWL.

The Commodores plated 588 runs and yielded 746 runs. John Price paced Decatur with 22 home runs and drove in 88 runs. Frank Johnson led batters with significant playing time by connecting at a .328 clip. William Rygwelski topped the squad with 11 wins and a team-best 3.28 ERA, leading regularly-used pitchers.
