The Bridgeport Bluefish of the Atlantic League ended the 1998 season with a record of 64 wins and 36 losses, finishing first in the AL.

The Bluefish plated 568 runs and surrendered 453 runs. Kinnis Pledger paced Bridgeport with 26 home runs and accounted for 89 RBI, while leading all regular batters by connecting at a .331 clip. Scott Conner topped the squad with 10 wins, and Steve Renko recorded a 2.41 ERA, leading hurlers with significant time on the mound.
