The Pirates scored 644 runs and conceded 528 runs. Ed Hartman drove in 72 runs and topped all regular batters by hitting .285. Joe Pacholec led the squad with 12 wins and a team-best 2.07 ERA, tops among qualifying pitchers.

Wes Chamberlain, Carlos García, Willie Smith, Steve Carter, Ben Shelton, Paul Miller, Keith Shepherd, Orlando Merced and Moisés Alou were all players from the 1988 Augusta Pirates who played in the Major Leagues during their careers.
