Rutherford County (21-25) surrendered its franchise to the league July 3, following an attack on the umpire at the home park. Lexington (16-31) took the franchise and joined the league July 5.

Salisbury (2-6) surrendered its franchise to the league May 18. Mooresville (33-58) was awarded the franchise because they agreed to buy the equipment and player contracts.

Shelby disbanded July 30. Their remaining games were forfeited.
