The Yakult Swallows of the Japan Central League ended the 1992 season with a record of 69 wins and 61 losses, finishing first in the JPCL.

The Swallows plated 599 runs, tops in the circuit. Yakult yielded 566 runs, most in the league. Jack Howell walloped 38 home runs for the squad, while Shinji Hata, Takahiro Ikeyama, Atsuya Furuta and Katsumi Hirosawa each added 15 or more also. Jack Howell drove in 87 runs and topped all regular batters by hitting .331. Yoichi Okabayashi led the team with 15 wins, and Akimitsu Ito recorded a 2.77 ERA, leading pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.
