The Swallows scored 530 runs and surrendered 653 runs, most in the circuit. Yukio Yaegashi led Yakult with 18 home runs, and Robert Marcano walloped 15 or more also. Robert Marcano accounted for 77 RBI. Tsutomu Wakamatsu topped hitters with significant playing time by hitting .325. Takao Obana paced the team with 14 wins and a team-best 3.45 ERA, best among hurlers with significant time on the mound.

Chris Smith played in Major League Baseball during his career, the only member of the Yakult Swallows to do so.

Masayuki Dobashi, Futoshi Nakanishi and Shiro Takegami served as manager.
