The Yokohama BayStars of the Japan Central League ended the 2002 season with a record of 49 wins and 86 losses, finishing sixth in the JPCL.

The BayStars scored 472 runs, worst in the league, and allowed 620 runs. Boi Rodriguez led Yokohama with 18 home runs and drove in 60 runs. Takanori Suzuki paced all regular hitters by connecting at a .282 clip. Yuji Yoshimi topped the squad with 11 wins, while Daisuke Miura recorded a 3.25 ERA, best among regular hurlers.

Shane Bowers, Ernie Young, Kazuo Fukumori, Chris Holt, Takashi Saito, Domingo Guzmán and Mike Gulan were all players from the 2002 Yokohama BayStars who played in the Majors during their careers.

Masahiko Mori and Yukinobu Kuroe served as manager.
