The Winston-Salem Warthogs of the Carolina League ended the 2006 season with a record of 66 wins and 72 losses, finishing fourth in the league's South Division.

The Warthogs plated 566 runs, worst in the league, and conceded 577 runs. Chris Kelly paced Winston-Salem with 20 home runs, while David Cook and Josh Hansen walloped 15 or more also. Chris Kelly drove in 77 runs. Victor Mercedes topped all regular batters with a .273 average. Wes Whisler led the squad with 10 wins, and Jack Egbert recorded a 2.95 ERA, tops among regular hurlers.

Members of the 2006 Winston-Salem Warthogs who played in Major League Baseball during their careers were Lucas Harrell, Carlos Torres, Jack Egbert, Adam Russell, Fernando Hernández, Wes Whisler, Jay Marshall, Donny Lucy, Clayton Richard and Dewon Day.
