The Winston-Salem Dash of the Carolina League ended the 2009 season with a record of 73 wins and 65 losses, finishing first in the league's Southern Division.

The Dash plated 626 runs and allowed 642 runs. Brent Morel and Salvador Sanchez paced Winston-Salem with 16 home runs apiece., and Seth Loman walloped 15 or more, too. Brent Morel drove in 79 runs and topped batters with significant playing time by connecting at a .281 clip. Anthony Carter led the squad with 11 wins, while Johnnie Lowe recorded a 4.05 ERA, tops among regular hurlers.

Brent Morel, Nate Jones, Héctor Santiago, Dylan Axelrod, Greg Infante, Sergio Santos, Jordan Danks, Miguel Socolovich and Daniel Hudson were all players from the 2009 Winston-Salem Dash who played in the Major Leagues during their careers.
