The Wenatchee Chiefs of the Northwest League ended the 1961 season with a record of 63 wins and 76 losses, finishing fifth in the NWL.

The Chiefs tallied 669 runs and conceded 727 runs. Moe Morhardt paced Wenatchee with 18 home runs, and Pete DeSilvia walloped 15 or more, too. Moe Morhardt drove in 90 runs and topped all regular batters by hitting .339. Stewart Bowers and Dick Burwell led the squad with 12 wins each, while Dick Burwell recorded a 3.65 ERA, leading qualifying pitchers.

Billy Cowan, Tony Balsamo, Bill Connors, Dick Burwell, Ken Hubbs, Moe Morhardt and Cal Koonce were all players from the 1961 Wenatchee Chiefs who played in the Majors during their careers.
