The Vancouver Canadians of the Pacific Coast League ended the 1997 season with a record of 75 wins and 68 losses, finishing third in the league's North Division.

The Canadians plated 766 runs and conceded 767 runs. Todd Greene paced Vancouver with 25 home runs, while Frank Bolick and Mike Wolff walloped 15 or more also. Todd Greene drove in 75 runs. Derrick White led all regular batters by connecting at a .324 clip. Geoff Edsell topped the team with 14 wins, and Travis Buckley registered a 5.11 earned run average, tops among regular hurlers.
