The Taiyo Whales of the Japan Central League ended the 1950 season with a record of 69 wins and 68 losses, finishing fifth in the JPCL.
The Whales tallied 759 runs and allowed 761 runs. Isamu Fujii walloped 34 home runs for Taiyo, while Masato Monzen swatted 15 or more, too. Isamu Fujii drove in 122 runs. Isamu Fujii and Nobuo Osawa topped all qualifying hitters on the roster with a .327 average. Hiroyoshi Takano recorded 25 wins on the mound for the team and a team-best 3.65 earned run average, leading pitchers with enough qualifying appearances. Tairiku Watanabe served as manager.
