The Southern Oregon Timberjacks of the Northwest League ended the 1996 season with a record of 29 wins and 47 losses, finishing fourth in the league's South Division.

The Timberjacks scored 374 runs and surrendered 484 runs, most in the circuit. Justin Bowles led Southern Oregon with 11 home runs and drove in 45 runs, while leading all qualifying hitters on the roster by connecting at a .285 clip, and Ray Noriega recorded a 3.54 ERA, tops among hurlers with significant time on the mound.

Members of the 1996 Southern Oregon Timberjacks who played in Major League Baseball during their careers were Cody McKay, Ryan Christenson and Brett Laxton.
