The White Sox led the league with 834 runs, sparked by 127 home runs. Savannah/Lynchburg surrendered 613 runs. Deacon Jones paced the team with 26 home runs, and Manly Johnston walloped 15 or more also. Deacon Jones drove in 101 runs. Don Buford topped all qualifying hitters on the roster by connecting at a .323 clip. Manly Johnston and Fritz Ackley paced the squad with 13 wins each, while Mike DeGerick recorded a 2.89 ERA, tops among regular hurlers.
