The Salt Lake Stingers of the Pacific Coast League ended the 2002 season with a record of 78 wins and 66 losses, finishing first in the league's Central Division of the American Conference.

The Stingers plated 797 runs and gave up 729 runs. Robb Quinlan and Larry Barnes paced Salt Lake with 20 home runs apiece., while Keith Johnson walloped 15 or more, too. Robb Quinlan drove in 112 runs. Rick Short led batters with significant playing time by connecting at a .356 clip.
