The San Antonio Missions of the Texas League ended the 1996 season with a record of 69 wins and 70 losses, finishing third in the league's West Division.

The Missions plated 616 runs and yielded 625 runs. Paul Konerko paced San Antonio with 29 home runs and drove in 86 runs, while leading hitters with significant playing time with a .300 average. Eric Weaver and Jesus Martinez topped the squad with 10 wins each, and Eric Weaver recorded a 3.31 ERA, tops among regular hurlers.

Members of the 1996 San Antonio Missions who played in Major League Baseball during their careers were Matt Herges, Paul Konerko, Will Brunson, Eric Weaver, Henry Blanco, Karim García, Ramón Martínez, Pat Ahearne, Adam Riggs, Chad Zerbe and Keith Johnson.
