The South Bend Silver Hawks of the Midwest League ended the 2005 season with a record of 84 wins and 56 losses, finishing first in the league's East Division.

The Silver Hawks scored 800 runs, best in the league. South Bend conceded 667 runs. Cesar Nicolas led the squad with 21 home runs, while Carlos González, Agustin Murillo, Allen Mottram and Mark Reynolds each walloped 15 or more also. Carlos González accounted for 92 RBI and topped hitters with significant playing time with a .307 average. A. J. Shappi and Ross Ohlendorf paced the squad with 11 wins each, and Koley Kolberg recorded a 3.91 ERA, best among hurlers with significant time on the mound.
