The South Bend Silver Hawks of the Midwest League ended the 2004 season with a record of 77 wins and 63 losses, finishing first in the league's East Division.

The Silver Hawks scored 630 runs and gave up 599 runs. Alex Frazier led South Bend with 20 home runs and drove in 80 runs, while leading all regular hitters with a .312 average. Danny Muegge topped the team with 14 wins and a team-best 3.12 ERA, best among pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.

Doug Slaten, Mark Reynolds, Chris Carter, Alberto González, Matt Chico, Carlos González, Emilio Bonifácio, Miguel Montero and Garrett Mock were all players from the 2004 South Bend Silver Hawks who played in the Major Leagues during their careers.
