The Savannah Sand Gnats of the South Atlantic League ended the 2000 season with a record of 74 wins and 65 losses, finishing second in the league's Southern Division.

The Sand Gnats scored 585 runs and allowed 551 runs. Cody Nowlin paced Savannah with 15 home runs Hank Blalock drove in 77 runs. Brett Cadiente topped all qualifying hitters on the roster by connecting at a .309 clip. Jovanny Cedeno led the squad with 11 wins and a team-best 2.42 earned run average, tops among qualifying pitchers.

Edwin Moreno, Andy Cavazos, José Morban, Ramón Nivar, Hank Blalock, Jason Jones and Reynaldo Garcia were all players from the 2000 Savannah Sand Gnats who played in the Majors during their careers.
