The Savannah Sand Gnats of the South Atlantic League ended the 1999 season with a record of 62 wins and 78 losses, finishing fourth in the league's South Division.

The Sand Gnats plated 607 runs and gave up 749 runs, most in the league. Travis Hafner paced Savannah with 28 home runs and drove in 111 runs. Geramel Castillo topped all regular batters by connecting at a .301 clip. Matt Kosderka led the squad with 12 wins, while Travis Hughes recorded a 2.81 ERA, leading hurlers with significant time on the mound.
