The Quad Cities Cubs of the Midwest League ended the 1980 season with a record of 74 wins and 65 losses, finishing first in the league's South Division.

The Cubs topped the league with just 546 runs allowed. Quad Cities scored 645 runs. Carmelo Martínez paced the squad with 12 home runs and recorded 64 runs batted in. Mike Diaz topped all regular hitters by hitting .293. Carlos Gil led the team with 15 wins, while Richard Renwick registered a 2.33 earned run average, tops among regularly-used pitchers.
