The Portland Sea Dogs of the Eastern League ended the 2009 season with a record of 67 wins and 74 losses, finishing fourth in the league's Northern Division.

The Sea Dogs scored 650 runs and gave up 649 runs. Jon Still led Portland with 17 home runs and recorded 89 runs batted in. Jorge Jimenez paced hitters with significant playing time by connecting at a .289 clip. Adam Mills topped the squad with 10 wins, while Félix Doubront registered a 3.35 earned run average, best among pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.
