The Peoria Chiefs of the Illinois-Iowa-Indiana League ended the 1954 season with a record of 73 wins and 63 losses, finishing third in the IIIL.
The Chiefs led the league with 860 runs. Peoria surrendered 793 runs, most in the circuit. Len Tucker paced the squad with 23 home runs, while Robert Rand and Bob Shawver walloped 15 or more also. Robert Kosis drove in 121 runs. Bob Shawver topped hitters with significant playing time with a .339 average. Red Vogel paced the team with 16 wins, plus Leo Scarpa, too added 15 or more wins, too Leo Scarpa recorded a 4.35 ERA, best among regular hurlers.
Bob Duliba played in Major League Baseball during his career, the only member of the Peoria Chiefs to do so.
