The Portland Beavers of the Pacific Coast League ended the 2004 season with a record of 84 wins and 60 losses, finishing first in the league's North Division of the Pacific Conference.

The Beavers yielded 635 runs, fewest in the league. Portland plated 738 runs. Jon Knott paced the team with 26 home runs, while Xavier Nady, J. J. Furmaniak and Tagg Bozied each walloped 15 or more also. Jon Knott recorded 85 runs batted in. J. J. Furmaniak topped all regular batters by hitting .294. Brian Sweeney led the squad with 11 wins, and Dennis Tankersley earned a 3.15 ERA, leading qualifying pitchers.
