The Osaka Kintetsu Buffaloes of the Japan Pacific League ended the 1969 season with a record of 73 wins and 51 losses, finishing second in the JPPL.
The Kintetsu Buffaloes paced the circuit with just 418 runs allowed. Osaka scored 482 runs. Masahiro Doi led the team with 27 home runs, while Takao Ise and Yozo Nagabuchi walloped 15 or more as well. Yozo Nagabuchi accounted for 74 RBI and topped hitters with significant playing time by hitting .333. Keishi Suzuki notched 24 wins on the mound for the squad, and Koichiro Sasaki and Toshihiko Sei, too added 15 or more wins, too Toshihiko Sei recorded a 2.23 ERA, best among pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.
Jim Gentile played in Major League Baseball during his career, the only member of the Osaka Kintetsu Buffaloes to do so.
