Mitsuo Motoi led all qualifying hitters on the roster by hitting .295. Masaaki Ikenaga topped the team with 18 wins and a team-best 2.57 earned run average, leading qualifying pitchers.

Carl Boles played in Major League Baseball during his career, the only member of the Nishitetsu Lions to do so.
