The Nishitetsu Lions of the Japan Pacific League ended the 1969 season with a record of 51 wins and 75 losses, finishing fifth in the JPPL.
The Lions plated 418 runs and conceded 507 runs. Isao Hirono paced Nishitetsu with 20 home runs, while Masayoshi Higashida and Carl Boles walloped 15 or more also. Carl Boles drove in 56 runs. Mitsuo Motoi led all qualifying hitters on the roster by hitting .295. Masaaki Ikenaga topped the team with 18 wins and a team-best 2.57 earned run average, leading qualifying pitchers.
Carl Boles played in Major League Baseball during his career, the only member of the Nishitetsu Lions to do so.
