The Nankai Hawks of the Japan Pacific League ended the 1982 season with a record of 53 wins and 71 losses, finishing sixth in the JPPL.
The Hawks scored 452 runs, worst in the league, and yielded 575 runs. Hiromitsu Kadota led Nankai with 19 home runs Jim Tyrone and Chiaki Sadaoka each recorded 48 runs batted in. Hiromasa Arai paced all qualifying hitters on the roster with a .315 average. Takanori Yamauchi topped the squad with 13 wins and a team-best 3.04 ERA, best among hurlers with significant time on the mound.
Jim Tyrone played in Major League Baseball during his career, the only member of the Nankai Hawks to do so.
