The Nankai Hawks of the Japan Pacific League ended the 1971 season with a record of 61 wins and 65 losses, finishing fourth in the JPPL.
The Hawks scored 614 runs and allowed 612 runs. Clarence Jones walloped 35 home runs for Nankai, while Katsuya Nomura and Hiromitsu Kadota added 15 or more also.
