The Newark Bears of the Atlantic League ended the 1999 season with a record of 55 wins and 64 losses, finishing fourth in the AL.

The Bears scored 623 runs and conceded 648 runs. Hensley Meulens led Newark with 21 home runs, while Sharnol Adriana, Craig Worthington, Keith Thomas and Doug Jennings each walloped 15 or more also. Hensley Meulens accounted for 94 RBI. Sharnol Adriana paced all regular batters with a .334 average. Tim Cain topped the squad with 11 wins, and Darrin Babineaux registered a 3.6 earned run average, best among regular hurlers.
