The Rebels scored 505 runs and allowed 580 runs, most in the circuit. Al Greene paced Montgomery with 21 home runs and recorded 61 runs batted in. Venoy Garrison topped batters with significant playing time by connecting at a .296 clip. Ralph Treuel led the squad with 12 wins, while Larry Corr recorded a 2.62 ERA, tops among qualifying pitchers.

Glenn Gulliver, Chris Codiroli, Al Greene, Bob Adams, Dan Petry, Roger Weaver, Mike Chris and Darrell Brown were all players from the 1978 Montgomery Rebels who played in the Majors during their careers.
