The Mainichi Orions of the Japan Pacific League ended the 1955 season with a record of 85 wins and 55 losses, finishing third in the JPPL.
The Orions scored 573 runs and allowed 450 runs. Kazuhiro Yamauchi led Mainichi with 26 home runs, while Takuzo Miyake and Kihachi Enomoto walloped 15 or more, too. Kazuhiro Yamauchi recorded 99 runs batted in and topped all qualifying hitters on the roster by hitting .325. Isao Wada, Atsushi Aramaki and Takashi Nakagawa paced the team with 18 wins each, and Yoshinobu Uemura also added 15 or more victories also Takashi Nakagawa registered a 2.08 earned run average, best among regular hurlers. Kaoru Betto served as manager.
