The Lotte Orions of the Japan Pacific League ended the 1982 season with a record of 54 wins and 69 losses, finishing fifth in the JPPL.

The Orions scored 531 runs and allowed 600 runs, most in the circuit. Hiromitsu Ochiai walloped 32 home runs for Lotte, while Michiyo Arito, Leron Lee and Leon Lee each swatted 15 or more also. Hiromitsu Ochiai accounted for 99 RBI and topped all qualifying hitters on the roster with a .325 average. Norihiro Mizutani led the team with 14 wins and a team-best 2.96 ERA, best among pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.

Leron Lee played in Major League Baseball during his career, the only member of the Lotte Orions to do so.

Kazuyoshi Yamamoto served as manager.
