The Lotte Orions of the Japan Pacific League ended the 1970 season with a record of 80 wins and 47 losses, finishing first in the JPPL.
The Orions topped the circuit with 599 runs, sparked by 166 home runs. Lotte allowed 472 runs. George Altman walloped 30 home runs for the team, while Art López, Takenori Ikebe, Kihachi Enomoto, Michiyo Arito and Hiroyuki Yamazaki each swatted 15 or more, too. Michiyo Arito drove in 80 runs.
