The Hanshin Tigers of the Japan Central League ended the 1977 season with a record of 55 wins and 63 losses, finishing fourth in the JPCL.
The Tigers plated 558 runs, worst in the circuit, and allowed 590 runs. Hal Breeden walloped 37 home runs for Hanshin, while Masayuki Kakefu and Koichi Tabuchi added 15 or more also. Hal Breeden drove in 90 runs. Masayuki Kakefu paced all qualifying hitters on the roster by hitting .331. Kenji Furusawa and Takenori Emoto topped the squad with 11 wins each, and Takenori Emoto registered a 3.71 earned run average, leading pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.
Hal Breeden and Mike Reinbach both played in Major League Baseball during their careers.
