The Hanshin Tigers of the Japan Central League ended the 1965 season with a record of 71 wins and 66 losses, finishing third in the JPCL.
The Tigers led the league with just 394 runs allowed. Hanshin scored 393 runs. Kazuhiro Yamauchi paced the team with 20 home runs, while Goro Toi walloped 15 or more as well. Kazuhiro Yamauchi recorded 65 runs batted in. Yoshio Yoshida topped batters with significant playing time by hitting .265. Minoru Murayama notched 25 wins on the mound for the squad, plus Gene Bacque, too added 15 or more wins, too Minoru Murayama registered a 1.96 earned run average, best among hurlers with significant time on the mound.
