The Hopkinsville Hoppers of the Kentucky-Illinois-Tennessee League ended the 1953 season with a record of 59 wins and 60 losses, finishing fourth in the KITL.
The Hoppers led the league with 850 runs, spearheaded by 99 home runs. Hopkinsville allowed 792 runs. Tom Jasonis paced all regular hitters with a .339 average. Leo Bacon topped the squad with 13 wins and a team-best 3.04 ERA, best among regularly-used pitchers.
Ed Wright played in Major League Baseball during his career, the only member of the Hopkinsville Hoppers to do so.
