The Hiroshima Toyo Carp of the Japan Central League ended the 2009 season with a record of 65 wins and 75 losses, finishing fifth in the JPCL.

The Toyo Carp plated 528 runs and yielded 575 runs. Kenta Kurihara paced Hiroshima with 23 home runs, while Scott McClain and Andy Phillips walloped 15 or more, too. Kenta Kurihara accounted for 79 RBI. Akihiro Higashide topped all regular hitters by connecting at a .294 clip. Colby Lewis led the squad with 11 wins, and Kan Otake earned a 2.82 ERA, leading regularly-used pitchers.

Mike Schultz, Kenta Maeda, Colby Lewis, Andy Phillips, Ben Kozlowski, Scott McClain, Scott Seabol and Scott Dohmann were all players from the 2009 Hiroshima Toyo Carp who played in the Majors during their careers.
