The Toyo Carp scored 482 runs and allowed 522 runs. Sachio Kinugasa led Hiroshima with 29 home runs, while Koji Yamamoto and Kazuyoshi Yamamoto walloped 15 or more also. Sachio Kinugasa accounted for 99 RBI. Toshiyuki Mimura paced all qualifying hitters on the roster by connecting at a .308 clip. Yoshiro Sotokoba and Yataro Oishi topped the squad with 11 wins each, and Yataro Oishi recorded a 2.79 ERA, best among hurlers with significant time on the mound.
